2008-11-26 You can find Eureka Altima vacuum for as low as $80. It is not the cheapest vacuum cleaner, but it is a very good choice when you want an appliance to stick a bit longer in your home. It has Good Housekeepin seal of approval which really adds up to the value. You can buy it and try it. If you don't like it, return it to the shop that has return policy.
Altima has a 12 amps motor that really does all the sucking there needs to be done. Hair, dirt and dust balls are going right to the container with a few sweeps only. Your carpets will look new to you when you finish with the vacuuming for th first time. You will be able to see their real color. And you will also be able to see how the dust is accumulating in the plastic container. All dust mites and dirt particles will be trapped in there, so you don't have to worry about that. This is a great news for all allergy sufferers because Eureka Altima vacuum cleaner has a HEPA filter that captures all those nasty allergens. You will get to choose from 5 different settings when it comes to height of your carpets and floor. You can use it on the bathroom tiles, vinyl flooring and entryway without a problem and forget about using the broom. Attachments on this cleaning appliance is what makes it so fun and useful cleaner. A telescopic duster is a really cool one. It can collect the dust with the help of electrostatic electricity which builds up while you are vacuuming. You can use it by twisting the handle that sticks out of the canister and pull it out to clean. You have a 3 feet cleaning radius with which you can collect the dust. After that, you simply put it back in the canister and start the vacuum. Dust will be sucked where is should go and you can continue with work. Another useful feature is Power Paw that flips up and down to clan your stairs horizontally and vertically. This is sometimes a bit troubling to use because Altima vacuum cleaner is a bit heavy. The attachment itself works great, but the trouble is to move that 25 pounds vacuum up the stairs. The crevice tool is almost a regular tool nowadays and this appliance also has it. You will have the chance to clean corners, baseboards and all narrow areas like areas behind dishwasher and wall. Dusting brush can be added to the crevice tool and you will get rid of that stubborn dirt that needs to be cleaned. For example, use it on baseboards, computer keyboard, exhaust fans and anywhere else where dirt is a bit harder to clean. If you are looking for a powerful vacuum cleaner that can cover a lot of ground and remove all sorts of dirt, then a Eureka Altima bagless vacuum cleaner is what you should get.
2008-11-26 When I first purchased this vacuum I was pleased with the strong
suction and the on-board features of the power paw (wonderful for
upholstery) and static duster (telescopic handle reaches ceiling fan,
above door frames, etc). I did notice that frequent cup-dumping and
filter replacement were required, but it seemed worth it at the time.
It outperformed every vacuum I'd ever owned for about the first two months, then just started losing suction. First I noticed that the "self-cleaning" feature of the static duster stopped sucking the dirt off of itself, then not enough suction to power the brush of the power paw, then not enough to pick things up with the hose, and now it really just sort of throws stuff around with the carpet brushes, doesn't actually pick up. I have owned this vacuum for a year now and it is practically worthless at this point. I literally use it to scatter/steer the dirt from the carpet to the bare floors so I can just sweep it up with a broom and dustpan. It has also become increasingly louder as the brushes still spin and the motor seems to be working harder, it makes a really loud rumbling sound mixed with a high-pitched whine like a jet engine. Compared to the gentle hum it made when it was new and still performing well, it's just the straw that broke the camel's back for me with this machine.
2008-11-03 Back in December of 2002 I was in the market for a
new vacuum. The old upright I had was just not up to par. The house I
am living in has vinyl flooring, carpeting, a woodburner and many nooks
and crannies. I decided a canister vacuum was a "necessity". I had my
heart set on a Kenmore canister with a power carpet/floor tool.
However, a lightweight/compact design was needed as I wanted to use
this vacuum to vacuum out my car from time to time. And I decided that
the Kenmore would be too big and heavy to haul outside, if even in rare
instances. Enter the Eureka Mighty Mite 3670!
After giving up on the Kenmore, I decided to go to the local discount retailer and see what they had in the way of canister vacuums. They only had one type (yep you guessed it), the Eureka Mighty Mite. I read the features and studied the picture on the box for a bit. It had everything I wanted (but the power carpet/floor tool, oh well you can't have EVERYthing). And the price was definately right. So I took it home, tried it out and have been hooked ever since! Now let's talk about some of the features. The 9.0 amp motor is more than sufficient. It does a wonderful job on carpets, and the handy "combination" tool is great for dusting and upholstery! The "combination" tool is very handy. It has two ports, and two sides. One port/side is the dusting brush. The other port/side is the upholstery tool. No dealing with seperate tools. They are both on one convenient attatchment. There is also a crevice tool for those hard to get into places (like in between car seats). The cleaning hose is a bit long, but I would imagine most people would see that as a plus. And it's really not a problem if you place the Eureka Mighty Mite vacuum cleaner far enough away when you are in a tight spot. The bags are cheap and a snap to change. I really enjoy using this Eureka Mighty Mite. The hose rotates on it's base so there are no tangles and the floor/carpet tool works great. There is also a "suction control" slip ring on the top wand to control the amount of suction. Although this vacuum does NOT have an electric carpet/floor attatchment the suction from the canister alone does a terrific job. And my carpet is somewhat plush. One other great feature is the "Automatic Motor Shutoff" which prevents the motor from overheating in case of a hose blockage. In conclusion, I would recommend this vacuum to anyone needing a canister vacuum. Even if you already own an upright I would recommend Eureka Mighty Mite as a second vacuum because it is great for automobiles and all those hard to reach places in your home. It is powerful, easy to use and the tools are simple and conveniently placed!

I'm not a big fan of vacuuming, and I know there are more people like me. But we all
have to do it though. So here we are at the Eureka Maxima vacuum cleaner review. One of my friends bought this Eureka as a replacement to a
more expensive model that somehow got milk into the motor or something.
I really don't want to know.
She decided to hit the cheap side of things. Of course shebought this model initially because it was bagless, and looked good enough. But for 49 bucks, I am thoroughly impressed. Assembly was a breeze. Less than 5 minutes. The unit rolls real easy. Some of the other cheaper models I looked at didn't roll that well. They "wobbled," somewhat. I do have the similar problem keeping the brush on the back. But the positives strongly out weigh that single negative. It has a light which actually does come in handy. My previous vacuum had no light. My house has a myriad of different floor types. I've got carpet, wood, and laminate plank flooring. This vacuum works well on each surface. On the plank flooring it picks up the dirt etc that gets caught down between the planks. It's almost a game to watch Eureka Maxima vacuum pick up material out of the carpet. Being the front is somewhat transparent you can see it pick up dirt as you go. It does have a hepa filter in the dirt chamber to keep dust etc from cycling through the vacuum. As this filter becomes clogged with debris it will affect the suction power of this machine. However if you remove the "suction chamber," as you would if you were dumping the dirt out, the filter is located in the top and with a simple twist to the left you can take this filter off. I generally take it outside and beat it against my hand to knock out a majority of what it has picked up. Generally it's a once the month type thing. I've replaced the filter twice since I've brought the vacuum. The replacement filter runs about 10 dollars. I replace it about every three months. The extensions that you can attach to a hose come in handy for taller things. I find them particularly useful for cleaning the ceiling fan, crown moldings, top of windows etc. It really has a lot of power. Again three children can make a mess fast. Real fast. This vacuum can keep up with them. From sand to M&M's I've yet to find a mess this eureka maxima vacuum cleaner could not clean. The bagless system is easy breezy. Just pull and dump. It has all the extensions and everything. All this for only $49. It was really a good find.
2008-11-03 As soon as I got Eureka Boss vacuum cleaner out of the box, I tore it apart.
I was curious about it's mechanical makeup. I took everything off that
could be removed. Everything is made out of plastic (or abs?) which is
okay for the big parts. The small parts like the handle to open the
storage for the filter bag, the cover to the roller brush and belt, the
dust protector for the belt and the plastic retainers that hold the
clear tubes could be made, in my opinion, sturdier. The belt is thin
and can easily break. Light is almost useless. These are the negative
things I could say about this Eureka Boss vacuum, but the positive things I like
about the vacuum far outweigh any shortcomings.
I like the way they%u2019ve designed the vacuum to halt the brush when you%u2019re using it to vacuum the bare floor or using the hose. When in hose mode, the sucked air goes directly to the filtered bag before it goes through the motor. Therefore, it acts like a handheld vacuum. That%u2019s the reason why you switch the selector from floor to hose. It%u2019s a genius design and I think it%u2019s becoming more common to design vacuum this way. I bought the 15 foot extended hose and it will lose some of the suction when you use it, but it still does a pretty good job. I use it for dusting around the house and I use it to vacuum inside the car. It does a good job picking up dust around the piano, tv, corners, dashboard in the car, etc. This is one of the primary reasons why I bought this vacuum. I wanted one that can clean up the inside of my car so that I don%u2019t have to go someplace else to get it vacuum. The other reason is that I wanted one that would help my allergy. Vacuuming the carpet was probably last on my list of reasons. I%u2019ve had Eureka Boss cleaner for about 3 months and am very satisfied. The 1st filtered bag is half full and I%u2019ve vacuumed a lot. It%u2019s performing very well, but waiting to see how it performs when the bag is nearly full. I like the fact that I don%u2019t see a lot of dust oozing out of the bag or in the compartment that houses the filter bag. I bought everything including the 15 foot extension hose, additional filtered bag, motor filter, another belt and the washable hepa filter. Be warned; do not vacuum anything that might stop the action of the roller brush. It will break the belt. It has happed once already but that%u2019s the operator%u2019s fault. Like many of you that are looking for a vacuum, I read reviews by users and professional reviewers. I highly recommend this vacuum because I like the way it was it%u2019s made and designed; and it does a terrific job for what I need it to do. The benefits that most users have already mentioned are true and it would be redundant to be mentioning those again. I enjoy using it, and I%u2019m a guy. Best place to read a professional review of Eureka Boss and other vacuumsis @ http://www.consumersearch.com/www/index.html The user%u2019s reviews I read were all helpful including the negatives ones. I%u2019ll try to address some of the cons. 1. It weights a ton? Not really. Pushing it while in operation is easy. Pulling is slight harder, but you might have a problem if your muscles have atrophied. 2. The %u201Cbrush roll control%u201D is hard to change? I think you just need to go to the gym. I think that the difficult one to change is the %u201Chandle release%u201D. Use your left heal to push it instead of the ball of your foot. With practice, it will become easier to operate. 3. %u201CR%u201D belt? You shouldn%u2019t be picking up anything that can potentially holts the action of the brush like clothing, strings, hairpins, etc. Use the hose if you need to vacuum those things. 4. Maneuvering around tight spots? Use your brain; easier yet, use the hose. 5. Cheaply made? Just because a product is expensive doesn%u2019t mean it performs better. Of course if you don%u2019t use this vacuum as a hammer, tricycle for your granddaughter or as a wheelbarrow while you do garden outside the house, it%u2019s probably going to be able to take the normal beating. 6. Just this tip. Practice the following a few times: stepping on the handle release to get the feel of it; putting the two wands together; removing and replacing the clear tubes; removing and replacing the brush, the filtered bag and the HEPA filter. If you know how to reasonably assemble and disassemble the different parts before you run into problems, you%u2019ll find that this Eureka Boss vacuum is %u201Cidiot proof%u201D. With the majority of users satisfied, it%u2019s the ones who don%u2019t use at least 1% of their brain that run into problem. Just think, if you used 10% of your brain, you%u2019d be saying the same things that most of the consumer are saying about this product :). Just an opinion.
